Two Factor Authentication (2FA) Overview

What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an essential security feature that adds an extra layer of protection to your account. Instead of only requiring a password to log in, 2FA requires an additional verification code sent to your phone via SMS or call. This ensures that even if your password is compromised, unauthorized users cannot access your account.

Why is 2FA Important?

  • Enhanced Security: Protects your account from unauthorized access, even if your password is leaked.

  • Prevention of Fraud: Reduces the risk of phishing attacks and identity theft.

  • Compliance and Best Practices: Many industries recommend or require 2FA to meet security standards.

Please note: VOIP numbers cannot be used for 2FA. You must use a valid mobile or landline number.

By enabling 2FA, you significantly enhance the security of your account, making it much harder for unauthorized individuals to gain access. We strongly recommend enabling this feature to protect your sensitive information.

What if You Cannot Use 2FA?

If you are unable to use 2FA for any reason, we strongly recommend creating a very secure password that you do not share with anyone.

A strong password should:

  • Be at least 12-16 characters long.

  • Include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters.

  • Contain numbers and special characters (e.g., !, @, #, $).

  • Avoid common words or phrases (e.g., "password123", "qwerty", or your name).

  • Be unique to each account and not reused across multiple sites.
