How do I verify my ID and bank details?
We verify your ID and bank details to keep your account secure and to make sure nobody is pretending to be you. This also helps us keep Lancaster Puppies a safe place for buyers and sellers by making it harder for scammers or puppy farmers to operate.
You only need to complete this process the first time you accept a Pet Payment request.
You will need:
- A valid government-issued photo ID
- Your bank details
- Access to a mobile phone is recommended
How do I verify?
After you accept a payment request, you will be asked to verify your ID and submit your bank details to our trusted partner Stripe. Stripe specializes in securely verifying identity documents so you can safely receive payments.
- Accept the request in chat.
- Accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Enter and verify your personal details and bank information.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your ID:
- Choose Automated Verification
- Select your ID type
- Allow camera access
- Take a photo of your ID (front and back if required)
- Take a selfie
How long does ID verification take?
It only takes a few minutes to upload your documents. In most cases you’ll be verified within minutes. If we need you to try again, you’ll receive an email from us with instructions. Sometimes a manual review is required, which can take 1–2 business days.
Why am I being asked to verify again?
If you previously verified your ID and bank details, you might be asked to verify again. We’ve updated the process to make it simpler and safer. This ensures nobody can pretend to be you, and that only you can receive your money or access your balance on collection day.
We understand this may feel inconvenient and we thank you for re-verifying your details.
I submitted my ID but was asked to try again
Sometimes verification fails the first time. If that happens, please try again and check:
- Clear images: Make sure the photos are sharp, not too dark or bright
- Lighting: Avoid harsh overhead lights or shadows
- Unobstructed ID: Do not cover any part of your ID with fingers or objects
- Unobstructed face: Remove sunglasses or accessories and move hair out of your face
- Real photo only: Scans and screenshots are not accepted
What is Stripe?
Stripe is our trusted verification partner for Pet Payments. They power payments for some of the largest companies in the world and help ensure that payments on Lancaster Puppies remain secure. You may receive emails directly from Stripe about your verification attempts.
How is my data secured?
Your data is handled with the highest security standards. Stripe is certified as a PCI Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent level available. Sensitive information like your ID is processed securely and is never stored by Lancaster Puppies.
